You see - if an apocalypse would ever occur and most of the civilization would be destroyed and google (with most of the internet) would still be out there - this will be the safest bet for humanity.
Why ?
It is the collective knowledge of the entire world for hundreds of years. You can learn how buildings are constructed - how to harness electricity (in case it is at least scarce) and generally how to rebuild humanity. And if such databases are kept in some secluded mountain somewhere in the middle of nowhere (like thepiatebay is) - they will survive.
A true apocalypse may be the one scenario where all of the world's computers are destroyed.
You see - if an apocalypse would ever occur and most of the civilization would be destroyed and google (with most of the internet) would still be out there - this will be the safest bet for humanity.
