Yeah but I mean are we counting like basic addition as maths, like you could say sports has Maths to thank because otherwise we wouldn't know the score ha, I was thinking more complex maths

The D'Hondt formula for working out who has won an election under Party List Proportional Representation is incredibly complicated. Hardly simple addition.

V / (S + 1)
Number of seats
1 + Number of offices held by party

It's used in Northern Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Finland, and the Netherlands.
