When I'm on the road I obviously use a portable device
When I'm at home or at work, I don't listen to sound that I already know, I use last.fm/grooveshark to find new music which I can then listen on the portable device later

Well I'm using a laptop and I don't really listen to music, but exactly what is wrong with it? I use it all the time and I haven't ever had problems.
