windows 8 is significantly faster than windows 7 that's all i care about, i can get used to everything else
Yeah, have fun with your massively DRM heavy Windows that basically needs everything pre-approved before you can download it and can't run games for shit. Yay for supporting anti-consumerism! Whoopie!
Meanwhile I'll sit here on my 'crappy' Windows 7 system, download whatever the hell I want, and run it perfectly without any issues. Boo me.

You know nothing about the Windows Store and how Windows Certification and Compatibility works, do you? Have you heard of the Walled Garden? Or how about the fact that both Notch and Gabe Newall have gone on public record saying that Windows 8 is the worst thing to happen to PC's, period? Learn to computer.
If you guys are going to keep defending Windows 8, I can safely assume you don't work with computers, don't use them often, don't build them and/or you don't have IT degrees. You do not know how poorly designed and how bad Windows 8 is. Your personal observations are irrelevant. Its horrible to program for, you need your programs certified to be permitted on to the system. It is a closed system. The entire thing is a money grab by Microsoft.

I work in IT, I know a lot about computers and build them for my buddies/people who want me to. I personally use windows 7, but really I have never had an issue with windows 8, and I use plenty of programs that I know for a fact aren't "certified" by windows, I have never had a problem with it, If you don't like it then go ahead and complain, but your opinion seems to be the minority in this thread either way.
Yes, because we're going to magically ignore the 741 people who thumbed up the post and only take the opinion of the people who scrolled down to disagree with it in the comments, correct? Windows 8 has more bad reviews than Superman 64, tanking sales figures, and has caused the entire gaming community to consider swapping over to Linix. And we hate Linix.
Two seconds of research under the heading of "Windows 8 closed system" in Google would tell you otherwise. Feel free to do the research yourself. Not to mention the multitude of poor reviews, the tanking sales figures, and the fact that the PC gaming market (including Steam) are considering switching to Linix. Kthanks.

all of these problems are outdated, this was july of last year, did you not suppose that the whole approved by windows thing didn't happen? because I can't find anything that says it did happen, I can only find stuff about people complaining that it could happen a year ago, I have never once seen anything or have had a problem with programs needing to be pre-approved, so maybe it didn't? I guess so.

Excuse me, what commercial software isn't closed source? There are only few exceptions to that, e.g. commercial use of Linux by Red Hat.
For second, Windows 8 is going good at sales. 60m+ licenses sold by now.
Steam is slowly switching to Linux because of Steambox. And it's mostly for OpenGL games, DirectX won't be anytime soon ported, as it's Microsoft's proprietary language.
There are a lot of improvents in Windows 8 from previous versions. But you can't appreciate that, because you're close-minded faggot.
