Although these pictures of celebrities are gaining a lot of attention due to the fact that substance use is involved, this should not come as a surprise as it is a common and, to at least some extent, a socially acceptable practice for average people to engage in such activities.
On the other hand, the picture of the lions drinking should spark major controversy due to the well known fact that lions are strictly against the use of alcohol.

blackleather (02/15/2013) [-] Well, i think the reason people make a big deal out of things like this is that celebrities are highly likely to begin abusing the drugs and alcohol to the point where they start ruining their own lives, and sometimes even leads to death.
While I also believe that people should be allowed their privacy and we should bother them about it because they are free to do what they please, I also realize these are the people that provide us the most entertainment, so should they fall, we would lose a large source of entertainment, which could lead to wide spread demoralization if it happens too often.
So I guess to sum it up, unconsciously, we know this will demoralize us, hence why we care so much about it, even though we probably shouldn't actually care.
