She is head of state in name only, unlike a president she has no power. Compare this to america where, for instance, the president can choose his cabinet from unelected individuals. Here in the UK the politicians may be just as crap, but at least we elected them.

But in the US all of those cabinet members, much like the president, have very little power to change anything. Obama keeps a cabinet to basically aid him in making military and foreign relations decisions, as well as enforce the laws. Congress, like Parliament, is the only body with the power to really do much.

The rest of the UK just get hit with the shitty decisions. Due to England having the largest population out of the 4 countries in the UK, they out number and out vote everyone else.

As for the Monarchy, I wouldn't mind them if they didn't spam my tv with weddings, jubilee's and shit. I couldn't care less if one of them get married, I didn't get an invite to it, they didn't want me there, so why should i want to watch it on tv.
