Depends if you're good at what you do.
There are too many people in my class who are doing art and are just not passionate about it. You have to be different, put effort in and you'll get rewarded. I'll probably get thumbed down for defending art, but it isn't as easy as you may think.

say what you want, i'm actually making my art course worth while

i'm earning 3 equivalent a levels so i can go into game design the reason i'm using art for the a levels is it looks much better on a cv alongside the game design
basically whoever did this thinks he knows best truth is people are setting goals in this world maybe i could go and study engineering but where would that take me? id be stuck in an office all day?
when i get to where i want to be i can be what i want to be and enjoy every second of it.

I'm somebody who loves to draw. Art diplomas are bullshit. If you can draw well, paint, sculpt, your work will do the talking for you. Having a piece of paper and $50,000 of student loans won't help sell your work. Not to mention, having a diploma, and all the debt, on the other end of the spectrum, won't make your shitty art GOOD.

I see al these posts that are basically only talking about engineering/medicine/law degrees and talking about the rest as useless. But what is FJ's opinion on degrees like history, politics, international development, philosophy, languages etc...
I mean there are more jobs than the three ones I mentioned first, and there is this idea that your university course always reflects your future career. But that's bullshit, my sister did French & Philosophy and is now working at Universal Records, which has nothing to do with her degree. There is more to getting a job than a university degree.
