Yes, I know. However, each Pope is an individual. It just so happens that Pope Benedict XVI felt that he would be most helpful to the Church by resigning and letting someone more capable do the job. Others perhaps did not feel this so much.

Understood but John Paul II is not a good target. Stick with the Emperor jokes for Benedict XVI. He has been a great papal reformer but the likeness is too much to ignore.

Not so much.

His criticisms were mainly exterior to the Church. Despite that, he was still immensely popular among Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Was he universally like? No but no pope ever has been nor ever will be.

Until priests started touching boys and all he did to fix it was use his charisma. If he had anything, I must admit he had a very large amount of charisma.

Though I must bring back the point that gormless wasn't insulting the pope, but was rather commenting on his age. My criticism was just a side-note.

Do you know what "Crusade" means?
It literally means "To fight for your belief"
Meaning that "Crusader" would be "One who fights for their beliefs".
meaning that my Name is not necessarily in relation to THE crusades, for all you know, it could be from the Mandalorian crusades of Star Wars, it could be the Crusader from TES IV Oblivion, etc.
But as it stands, yes, it is in reference to the Crusaders of the "Holy Crusade". But not because i support them, but because I was really into AC when I made this account, and "Altair" "Assassin" "Hasansin" and all the other assassin names and terms were taken, so I chose one from the opposing side.
Not to mention you're argument proves that the pope, and those who elect him are flawed if they did that.

I went through the meaning of the word Crusade.
Yes, the Crusades were wars carried out under Papal Sanction.
But they also mean "any vigorous, aggressive movement for the defense or advancement of an idea"
ie - A CRUSADE against Child Abuse

Therefore a Crusader would be anyone who partakes in a crusade.

Not to mention there is no irony in my comment, a key founding belief in Christianity is the humans sin, and therefore are flawed. You are not supposed to look at the Pope and say "He is without sin, he is infallible because he is the pope" the pope himself preaches against that, saying that there was only one person without sin, jesus, and unless you are saying that each and every pope is another reincarnation of Jesus, then you are simply repeating the same arguments that we have already gone over. Not to mention, history has shown that pope's used to buy their way into power and that they do evil things.

So, in conclusion, you are ignorant of all the meanings of Crusader, it's like if I said you were ignorant because you didn't have any manners and you replied with "I know a lot of things"
