All the people I know that had been to France say that the French are the most self -centered, douche bag, moronic and unpleasant people. And the closer to Paris the stronger this gets. We got some students from France some year for the Erasmus and for them it was also true. I stopped trying to communicate with them because all it did was making me nervous. Who else hates France and all the frog eaters?

i live in paris atm and i like it here, the people i hang out with are cool and aside from a couple of hobos in the subway i don't see much of the 'french are assholes' idea

you stopped talking to the people because they made you nervous about france? really?

They were talking shit about people behind their backs. I wouldn't know but my french speaking friend translated. They refused to talk in english even though they could and only talked with people who could speak french, when I refused to use the translating friend when they wanted something from me they issued a formal complaint to the organizer. They got drunk repeatedly and vandalized everything they could, the bus for example. All they left was shit and piss on the bathroom floor and vomit and dirt in their quaters.

I didn't have any problems with French. OK, Parisiens are pretty bad, but the rest of France is nice. And you shouldn't associate the whole country with a few exchange students.
What did those students do to you that you call them douchebags, self-centered...? Maybe you just had too high expectations.
