biological evolution will ALWAYS be relevant because it will always exist, if it doesn't then you're technically dead. We might have control over our thoughts and our actions, but we still do have an instinct, albeit a rather small one at times, and it's always at play.

We're able to focus our instinct onto societal standards in dominance as well, such as the person who has the most money, bigger house, faster car, etc. It drives women to show off their body, strike a sexual pose, flirt. The theory is that when there are too many people living too tightly, the gene (which is only half-confirmed) triggers in the people who are disposed for it, to limit the population increase.

See, this is where I fall a bit short, because I like the "oh god, NEAT!"-part of science, so I really just ignore dangers of stuff mostly. But never the less, I will give it a try.

First of all, It really depends on what hormones you add to your system, every hormone has its own job. If you add a too large amount of certain hormones to your body, it may create an imbalance in the system, causing different types of illnesses.

If you are referring to a specific hormone, I would be able to tell more as it is too difficult to point out only certain things when there are so many different effects.

Say, hormone pills in order to change your appearance as a guy to that of a female. Estrogen I believe.

Estrogen is not that dangerous as far as i know. This is of course when magical fairy princessistered in a dosage controlled by a doctor. I believe it may be a bit uncomfortable during some stages of the treatment, but I haven't heard of any dangers as such. I should probably google it though, this seems interesting.

Yes. Well, if my body remains the same as it is now, people recommend that I don't take hormone pills. Personally, if my body changes within a few years, I'll definitely have to consider them pills.

I see what you mean. I don't know if that stuff is prescription where you live, but if it isn't, I recommend talking to a doctor about it anyways. Hormones can be tricky stuff you know.

I am very well aware of that and I am going to see a doctor later in my life about it. I'm not too sure though, I don't think they want to give hormone pills just like that here in Denmark.

Oh Denmark! Well, I know about a guy here in Norway who got it. Might have been for sex-change, but I don't remember. Still, might get them, just in a smaller dosage. Denmark is a little more liberal with medications than Norway.

It could also be that it's a mindset, a deeply seated mindset that can't be changed, kind of like anon's hatred for gays. It still wouldn't be a choice and it also wouldn't be a sickness. I'm not saying it is a sustainable form of sexuality. And yes, that theory does come down to at some point it was a choice, but not necessarily one they made consciously, the same way fetishes are formed at a young age, it's not necessarily controllable. And you can hate them, love them, whatever, as long as you're not putting on your pointy hatted ghost costume and lighting crosses on fire in front lawns and still recognizing the fact that they're still people then you're free to feel or say whatever you want.

Well I was trying to keep prejudice out of the conversation, because that brings emotion into the equation, and usually pushes logic out. I prefer evidence based, logical conclusions when discussing highly sensitive issues, such as this. It keeps the discussion simple. It always muddies the waters when people start throwing around words, like; racist, homophobe, Socialist or Nazi, with little regard for the meaning of each of those words.

Frankly, I don't agree with either of the "born with it" or "it's a choice" arguments. Infants have no concept of sexual preference, so they can't really be "born with it," but at the same time, someone can't just "choose" what gender they are sexually attracted to.

No argument on this subject is truly correct nor truly wrong (unless if you're the fucker up there who said it's a mental illness, as that would entail a physically medical problem with the brain, which is not a property of homosexuality or bisexuality).

Idk about you anon but most people find physical attraction pretty important and pansexual doesn't mean "I like everyone regardless of gender or lack thereof" it means you are attracted to people you have an emotional connection to so much so that their gender is unimportant to you.
