Well, the Pope said he is going to resign and the UK passed the equal marriage (which is a big thing for the religions in the UK that oppose it). That's just two things off the top of my head, that are only 1 religion and aren't related to scholarship. If you looked into various theological journals you'd find things are being proposed all the time.

Relax, an innocent jibe on my part :) and no offence meant. I just think science seems a lot busier, and with more....practical things.
On a side note: I do kind'a have to say that I think you can compare them pretty well since one seeks to prove things with empirical evidence and one seeks to prove things using mostly priori reasoning and faith--they're like complete opposites so they actually make a really good comparison.
