Mfw ***** are being just as much hipsters as apple hipsters by glorifying Android.

No

This bandwagon is just as bad,

If someone wants an iPhone and can afford it, let them have it, same for Android, and Brick Nokia.

And shut the **** up about it

Yes I'm butthurt

I can agree with this. I'm a apple fag, but I can't stand their computers. Just their phones.

I have a macbook. If they have the computers for making music, photo editing, video editing or anything like that its fine, internet searching is not fine and gaming is certainly not fine

Rooting with ease, full control of your hardware and system, Overclock, several tweaks and modifications, a variety of different software with a lot of usage in daily life, several themes and optic enhancing things, and all this by the community (this means a lot of ******* people) for FREE. A Apple product isn't that bad , but the policy of the company is. Open Source is our future!
User avatar #7 to #5 - nighthit (02/10/2013) [-]
May I ask what your OS is?
User avatar #8 to #7 - darkthundertwotwo (02/10/2013) [-]
Android 2.3.6 , I used 4.0 , but it is unoffical for my phone, the community created it. OFC both of them heavily modded. I have a "old" Samsung Galaxy S I

Do not get me wrong. I am not trying to start a debate, however if you truly agreed with opensource your OS would not be Windows, now Macintosh. Considering your claim that opensource is indeed our future you would use Linux.
User avatar #12 to #11 - darkthundertwotwo (02/10/2013) [-]
I agree that all Linux OS are better than Windows, but the main reason I use windows is that I play a lot of games. But I still have differnet Linux version installed (Damn Linux saves the ******* resources of your computer )
User avatar #48 to #12 - awesomenessdefined (02/10/2013) [-]
All Linux Distros are better?
Ubuntu, Zorin OS, Fedora, OpenSuse, in fact, all of them are terrible.
They're simplistic, have virtually no software options(wine is **** ), don't maximize half of the potential of your computer unless you use a custom distro, and the GNOME UI has a bigger learning curve than any other OS I have ever used.
Oh but you can customize the desktop.
Linux is only good for Super Computers or Mobile OS's.
#68 to #48 - hylebus (02/10/2013) [-]
Linux is much better for programming. There are console alternatives for Windows (Cygwin, PowerShell), but nothing matches speed of Linux console, when you have to code something.

anybody ever notice that only Android fans feel the need to make pictures like these?
User avatar #6 to #1 - senoldlx (02/10/2013) [-]
it's because they are kiddies. kiddies who have too much time. when i had the time, i had an android phone too. rooting, overclocking, modding, optimizing battery life and so on. before my last android phone (htc sensation) i had a iphone 3gs. and when i had less time (final exams) and one only needs gadgets that work 'autonomously' and do not have lags and problems and so on, i missed my iphone (was jailbroken). I love to be able to customize my gadgets, and actually be able to use the things i bought how i want.
and you know what?
having to flash n custom roms to get the best out of your phone, installing several apps after that, finding out that some apps seemingly are causing wakelocks, finding out that there is no evidence for the culprit to be found in the logcat or in any other way, fiddling around several hours to make your phone actually work while you have a ******* of more important things to do IS NOT COOL ANYHOW.

tl dr, android wasn't reliable at all, bought a lumia 900 which is reliable, but misses some features the iphone has. will pass final exams, dad may give me an iphone as a gift. i'm not a hater, android has awesome features, but it's still a mess.
#15 to #6 - John Cena (02/10/2013) [-]
i always laughed at how andriod users say how great the customizing is and that it is essential to root the phone.

shouldnt the phone be good enough that you don't need to root it? why the **** would you void your warranty for the sake of DIS SUPA COOL APP?
#22 to #15 - deadlyambitions (02/10/2013) [-]
wait dont u gotta jail brake ur iphone to get ok apps and to even update it lol
User avatar #29 to #22 - zxmongoose (02/10/2013) [-]
No. iPhone user who has jailbroken before speaking. Jailbreaking used to be great for certain features and often still is, but you most definitely don't need it to update (that doesn't even make sense). Also, Apple's iPhone updates tend to follow what jailbreaking offers in terms of performance. Customizable backgrounds? That was a jailbreak feature first. That little camera slider on the lock screen? Jailbreak had it first. Also, as far as jailbreak apps go, they tend to be ****** . Most of them crash or don't work right, and the ones that do are really pointless. Jailbreak does still have some advantages though, if I had my iPhone 4S jailbroken right now my contacts list would have contact pictures next to each name. Jailbreak also allows you to have moving background themes, but those are a big battery drain.
User avatar #85 to #29 - senoldlx (02/10/2013) [-]
thanks for the clarification. fj is clearly full of android fanboys, a post which accuses an iphone for being only updatable via jailbreak (wtf) has 0 thumbs, people trying to rationally explain why android is inferior regarding the reliability get -x thumbs. you disappoint me, fj community.

its either jailbreak ur iphone to update the os or buy a new one lmao
User avatar #91 to #88 - zxmongoose (02/10/2013) [-]
I pray to some form of higher being that you're trolling.
You haven't had to pay for an iOS update since the update to iOS 3.0, which was potentially one of the largest OS updates in iOS history, completely changing the platform. Jailbreaking doesn't allow updating the OS at all, if you update the OS you lose the jailbreak and have to redo it. All iOS updates since iOS 3.0 have been free and available directly from Apple, who doesn't support jailbreaking at all.
#94 to #91 - deadlyambitions (02/11/2013) [-]
u realize that the os before suri and the phone before suri u could jailbreak and get suri on that phone that the update was on that phone just wasnt unlocked lol

sry u dont understand here u = you os = operating system wasnt = wasn't hmmmm there u go only one short hand that u had to understand sry i dont feel like putting ' into everything sue me like apple does.

lol apple sues ppl for stealing their ideas yet he said early in his profession that borrowing is part how technology grows lmao, and also he stole the ipad idea from someone who got the idea from someone else.

anyways i hope ur that idiot that spent hundreds on that .5 inches of screen
User avatar #97 to #96 - zxmongoose (02/11/2013) [-]
I haven't run out of arguments, I simply can hardly read what you're typing.
Let me respond simply, then.
Siri was a jailbreak feature originally, designed by iPhone users who wanted that feature that Android has, which Apple then proceeded to take and use.
I've said multiple times now that Apple takes a lot of their update ideas from what people jailbreak their phones to do. What they DON'T do is make you pay for them. The last paid update, as I said, was years ago. They haven't done it since.
Yeah yeah, Apple sues for their ideas, heard it before. I don't support them for that at all and never said I do.
And no, I'm not "that idiot that spent hundreds on .5 inches of screen". I spent $100 on it. Well, actually, I didn't pay for it because my father bought it for me as a birthday present, one that I appreciate and like, because Apple actually does make a good mobile OS in my opinion. It runs fast, supports my jailbreak tweaks well, and does all that I need it to do.
#98 to #97 - deadlyambitions (02/11/2013) [-]
**** supports my jailbreak tweaks well,**** ur argument is lost right there
and how is it hard to read lol sry insert a period in there once lmao woops
User avatar #99 to #98 - zxmongoose (02/11/2013) [-]
I'm not saying the OS is perfect. It's fine as a base but not ultra customizable. So yeah, I jailbreak and have some good tweaks. I was perfectly happy BEFORE jailbreaking, and I'm equally happy now.

User avatar #35 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]
Maybe it's cause I use a 3 year old phone, but something on my samsung crashes daily. It has the processing power of a GBA, I swear. This never happens with my iPad, but I'm sure this is a hardware problem and not a software. Apple's OS has a much more pleasing feel to use in my opinion and a much better "fanbase", in commercial terms. Its widespread use means that it is what is first designed for in terms of applications. It's kind of like the PC but reversed. Apple enthusiasts are usually stupid product worshippers that feel the must upgrade at the soonest opportunity, where android ehnthusiasts feel the overwhelming need to try and act as hipster as possible when talking about their phones.

Kind of an unrelated question, but is it worth it to get a Samsung GS3 for around $300 and pay a contract-free $45 a month for unlimited everything? I'd like to get some kind of new phone and the iPhone doesn't speak to me anymore.
User avatar #44 to #35 - thenukecity (02/10/2013) [-]
The GS3 is nice. I'm guessing you're going to go with wind? But yes, its worth it.
User avatar #45 to #44 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]
I'm not sure what wind is, but if you're talking about a provider I'm going with straightalk. It will be nice to have a phone that doesn't freak out every time I try to load an app less than five seconds after I've closed another.
User avatar #51 to #35 - thelastamerican (02/10/2013) [-]
I'm glad your phone stopped speaking to you. I don't think they're supposed to do that.

On the GS3, if you wait for a sale you can get a $300 rebate. That's what I did. I got my rebate back a couple weeks ago, so I really got a free phone.
User avatar #53 to #51 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]
Well, that's nice, cheaper phones are always good. The thing I'm more worried about is the contracts.

I like how people that disagree with some opinions I state in my first comment seem to feel the need to thumb all these replies I'm making to people giving me advice.
User avatar #55 to #53 - thelastamerican (02/10/2013) [-]
I generally don't thumb comments, but you should know that your first comment was a little hard to follow.
User avatar #57 to #55 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]

Did you just compare a phone to a tablet?
User avatar #38 to #37 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]
Yes, I did, because one runs iOS and one runs android. I also said one sentence later that this is because of hardware differences on the two products. It's just kind of annoying to me that I have to deal with a phone that constantly crashes apps. I don't know whether it's because my phone is old or because of the OS.
User avatar #39 to #38 - HarvietheDinkle (02/10/2013) [-]
Of course it's hardware; one's newer and more powerful (it being a tablet); the other's a 3-year-old phone.
User avatar #40 to #39 - gatodelfuego (02/10/2013) [-]
Well, there we go. I've never heard of iPhones crashing apps at any rate, but I don't care. I like both for different purposes and reasons.
#63 to #40 - Visual (02/10/2013) [-]
In case it didn't occur to you, many Apple products eventually stop running Apps properly as they age, mainly because Apps become to much for the hardware to handle efficiently anymore and also because Apple designs them to break/deteriorate after a year or two.

Apple knows most of it's fanbase are uneducated about technology who buy things for it's look rather than actual usefulness, which is why they make their products so appealing but so lackluster in terms of OS reliability and pricing.

So you keep buying more.
User avatar #89 - amuter ONLINE (02/10/2013) [-]
why did it take three androids to defeat one apple?
