On a sidenote, people have been trying to get me to watch that. Any good, or should I read the books first?

I've only just now started the first book, but the show seems close enough that I would suggest watching it and then moving onto the books, simply because the casting in the show was so spot on so you know rather well how the characters are meant to act. Granted, there are changes to the age of certain characters (which I find preferable) but overall they adapted it perfectly.

Sounds like a plan! I think I'll be adding that to my list of shows to watch.

I'm sure you'll like it. It's probably my favorite show just behind Spaced and Monty Python's Flying Circus.
