On BBC Three, there was a documentary called "Stacey Dooley in the USA: gay To Straight" (I seen it in November/December).
As the title suggests, she looks at some gay to straight conversion therapies and people who underwent those, and people currently undergoing these therapies (And in my opinion, torture.). You could probably find an online version, it's a good insight to gay to straight things.

To answer your question (From a gay dude)... No. It's not possible. I've tried when I was younger, and I mean tried really hard to the point where I start to hate myself. People who say they have been converted aren't actually changed, just act differently.

It doesn't work, there's plenty of gay men who have been ashamed of their sexuality and have tried to become straight. My cousin was gay, he was in complete denial, got married and had 3 kids and wasn't remotely attracted to his wife but he loved her. He ended up running away with some Spanish guy.

Sexuality is kinda like a boner, you don't choose how it happens or when it happens or to who it happens, it just happens, and you better accept whatever happens to you, it can be very painful if you try to hide.

By the way, your question makes it sound like you belive homosexuality is some sort of mental condition, try to word things better if that isn't what you belive.

Yes, it is possible to alter ANY human behavior, you can be made to be sexually aroused by women. Yes it is also possible under the assumption of homosexuality being genetic to identify or even lower the chance of a gay person being born. (Nothing as simple as a gay "gene" but maybe multiple ones)

Evolutionarily speaking homosexuality is anti-propagation of species and as such could be considered a defect since it removes the drive to reproduce with a woman. (Yes im well aware of artificial insemination, and the couple who use it, but at least one parent won't spread her genes.)

Knowing now that homo is something that can be changed I have to ask why you would want to change it? I mean that's a shit load of money,effort, and emotional what? Social Approval? You're not hurting anyone else, and in all other respects you're just like anyone else.

You should probably ask yourself why you feel badly feeling attraction for other men.

If you're crying because of a simple attraction, you have something wrong with you other than gay. I would recommend a gay support group (strongly recommend they are trained for this, and you'll likely make a lot of friends) or a counselor more than any gay therapist.....because more than likely the crying won't go away simply by changing attraction.

Btw, when I said it was "possible" I didn't mean it was easy or even practical right now..... I have yet to see a gay conversion therapist who wasn't from a religious group who specializes in making gays hate themselves. I also know they haven't found the gay gene (not that it would help a full grown adult), and they are barely discovering ways to make small changes in genes.

You odds of magically changing your desires and having it done painlessly or cheaply is practically zero man. You should learn instead how to manage stress, and accept yourself for who you are.
