Ratings mean nothing to parents who will give into their 12 year old kid who wants to buy Black Ops 2.

Fuck humanity.

But we know better. So we will end up following the ratings that our parent's never understood. And when our 7 year old kids want COD 25, we will tell them no and get them Mario and Pokemon like they should be playing.

And get them the slightly more violent games (if they want them) when they're old enough to understand the concept of life and death and that violence outside of video games is wrong.

Hopefully, it will work out by then.

The problem is also the fact that new parents tend to buckle over when their kid starts crying for things like an iPhone and the newest gory/violent/M-rated game, very expensive clothing, ect. Parents need to learn to to say 'no' to their kids, or at least teach them to earn the money to buy it themselves, that way they'll learn the value of a dollar.

Which is exactly why I enjoy having my own money in the form of a bank account, gift cards, and straight cash.

And even before having a debit card (for things online), if I wanted something that I didn't need (such as TF2 when it still cost money), my parents would pay for it with their card and I would pay them back.

That was my same upbringing.

You better understand the value of a dollar when that dollar is your own.
