There are no girl gamers -- only gamers.

I am a gamer.
I'm a strategy gamer mostly, though sometimes I do shooters.

Am I a guy gamer or a female gamer?
A real gamer doesn't even know that while gaming. All I know is related to the game, and to the situation. Nothing exists outside the game.

In the past, you either were a gamer, or you were not. You weren't a girl gamer, you weren't a guy gamer. Now, little kids whining about things, and gaming becoming widely popular, have entered our serene world. This results in many issues between the true gamers, who stay loyal to the code of gaming, namely, to enjoy the game while giving it your all to win, and gracefully accept your defeat, despite a lot of swearing being often involved, and the 'outsiders', who claim themselves gamers as well, but are completely different to real gamers.

Dear FJ'rs, let's face it, if we're talking about girl gamers, how many of us aren't talking about a possibility to find a girl to hook up with, rather than about a true difference in sexes?
Because on a game, nobody knows whether you're a guy or a girl (except through the use of a mic), because sometimes, guys play a female character, or vice versa.
The basic idea of any game was, is, and will be (I hope) to have fun, and to try to win.

TL, DR: Play a game and smile.

Or we could stop objectifying girls who play video games and call everyone a gamer.

girls play, guys play. seriously i dont give a fuck about both. its a wasted time discussing who is and whos not a ganer. if you play or dont play video games it doesnt make you any more or any less attractive i hate both the people in this content equally

Behind the controller I see nothing. I see a player and I see a challenge. I don't discriminate based on gender, age, sexual orientation or income, I just play the damn game we both know and love, and that's as far as it should go. It works the exact same way on the internet.

My sister is a bit like the chick on the right. She's killer in first person games. This would be fine except for the fact the she expects me to pay for her games.

My girl actually likes Skyrim, but she rages so fucking hard when she dies. It's so pointless to try and calm her down, lest I be the next on the chopping block..

Back in my day, being a gamer wasn't something to be proud of.
