A person like you who's probably in the U.S. (I'm assuming based on the stereotypes) shouldn't really talk.

Is it not also allowed in Britain? And Italy?
User avatar #70 to #20 - milthyfoustache (02/03/2013) [-]
No, civil partnerships are legal but you can't get married

Britain's close to it, but a few cunts in the church are desperately trying to hold onto their bigotry. Don't know about Italy.

Erm, only Church of England, and it's only banned in their churches, else it's legal- it's legal by the government. John Barrowman married a guy in Scotland.

Plus it wasn't the CoE's decision- they were upset that the government chose that.
CoE can't claim "sanctity of marriage"; Henry VIII came up with it so he could get another divorce. Even if he was a total homophobe...

John Barrowman has gotten married? And it ain't to me?! Oh god, my dreams just died. I feel empty inside. Sad. Woe is me, et cetera.

I believe I had repressed my recollection of such a marriage ever occurring.

gay marriage is legal in Scotland. Everywhere else in Britain has civil unions. David Cameron said he'd legalise gay marriage by the end of his term, but a promise from David Cameron isn't exactly worth much.

Actually its not legal in Scotland.
The Scottish Government doesn't have that kind of power within the UK, gay Marriage is still illegal here because Westminster doesn't give a **** about Scottish views.
Scottish people, although stereotypically prejudice, were more in favour of gay Marriage, Religious equality (Excluding Burkas/ Veils, since that goes against removing you're hood when entering a bank etc) than anywhere else in the UK.

Denmark was the last country to approve same-sex marriage before France, so it probably is outdated.
User avatar #8 to #6 - galacticboner (02/03/2013) [-]
I didn't make it, so it might (and is, according to you) be outdated. Sorry.

It's alright, chap. Look on the bright side, you just learned something new! gay marriage is legal in denmark c:
