I find it funny that they are called "high-capacity" magazines. They are standard capacity magazines. That is what they were designed to use.

Ban guns, relax the legal definition of 'marriage', marry all of your guns, adopt your magazines.

America owns 270 million of the worlds 870 million Firearms, we have about 11,000 deaths per year by guns, about 60% of which are gang related... I would have to say we are doing a good job with the deaths not being really high per how many guns we have..you would think it would be higher but it is not.. lol

I love how a lot of people say, "We don't need assault rifles, so just ban them. People can keep their hunting rifles." When people say that I always ask them if they know why we have the second amendment. "So we can have guns."-90% of people

We have the second amendment so the government always has to have a slight fear of its people. It's so we can form militia if the government ever becomes so terrible it's needed. Therefore, I'd rather keep my assault rifles than my hunting rifles.

You don't have to discuss politics. This is clearly a Texas joke.

Excessive gun control is a blatant violation of civil liberties....but I ******* hate weapon-obsessed lunatics that won't shut the **** up about their hobby.

Actually, I can understand where they're coming from when they try to protect their right to keep those snazzy high-tech weapons.

An analogy; the government passes a law stating that no one is allowed to own a computer with stats above a certain baseline, and absolutely no broadband internet, as these things warrant it being a "hacking computer," and no honest citizen would require that much power for their day to day work, surely? Thus the only owners of computers with massive specs are either unreliable "computer nuts" or are actively working against the government, attempting to hack into their various databases.

And you complain and insist that you happen to enjoy having that much power at your fingertips, at being able to play top of the line games, but no, sorry my friend, no honest citizen would absolutely need that much. You can still play games with lower specs, right? So play those games.

Now, to translate that into the gun form;

the government passes a law stating that no one is allowed to own a rifle with certain attributes such as pistol grips and high-cap mags, and absolutely no fully automatic fire, as these things warrant it being an "assault weapon," and no honest citizen would require that much power in their day-to-day work, surely? Thus the only owners of such assault weapons are either unreliable "gun nuts" or are actively working against the government, or planning some form of future massacre.

And you complain and insist that you happen to enjoy having such powerful weapons in your ownership, of being able to tinker with them and modify them and try them out on ranges to see how they measure up, but no, sorry my friend, no honest citizen would absolutely need weapons like that. You can still fire guns with lower specs, right? So fire .22 rimfire for the rest of your life.

The issue here is that they've completely misunderstood what it is that draws gun owners and enthusiasts to the things in the first place. They don't see themselves as ******* Clint Eastwood in some modern western, nor as some kind of freedom fighter against the "ebil gubbmint," it's just a hobby. A dangerous hobby, in the wrong hands, but the same can be said of cars. There are better ways to moderate, such as through intensive, independent psych tests before receiving a weapons licence and the like, but the U.S. government completely ignored all attempts at moderation and instead jumped for the solution that would most satisfy the bawling of far-leftists. Rather than looking at why people owned the weapons - that is, as a hobby - they instead jumped to the most dramatic conclusion possible.

Something else that is an issue; their definition of "assault weapons" is askew. If you take a semi-automatic wooden hunting rifle, replace the wood with black plastic and provide it with a pistol grip, it is now an "assault weapon," despite being functionally identical to the first in form and function. So now in your country you have vast swathes of people that own much the same weapon as their neighbour, but because they happen to have a preference for pistol grips, they're under threat of having their weapons made illegal. Are you seeing the levels of retardation yet?

i honestly dont see the point of owning an assult rifle unless you have a lot of money.
high calibur rounds are very expensive.

thats why i stick to bolt action where before you shoot a round, you kiss it goodbye

Why do I think that we'd have less mass shootings if we stopped covering the shooters themselves and started focusing on the victims and glorifying the people that sometimes stop these psychopaths?
