It is a reboot actually after rereading it.
I get DMC, it's a different story and a change in the character, but the background is the same. It's supposed to be an alternate universe though right?
I don't know about this show though. Probably the same, but I thought DMC would stay with their same look unlike PPG. I mean DMC 5 looks a lot like the graphics in DMC 4 right?

maybe they don't have a hard time physically redrawing it the same way. Maybe the original creator has specific rights so that they can't? who knows.

It looks like they're bringing back the original cast for the most part. I don't know, maybe they'll introduce Bell as a character. (From Bleeman's comics. And I think he's a friend of Craig McCracken).
But then again I think that the art style would be the least of their worries. Clearly they have the rights to remake the show so I don't see why style would be a problem. Probably, they're doing it for other reasons
