As a former TPS (Target Protection Specialist), I agree. Target's fucking cheap, and the employees don't give a crap because of it. They always took an hour off my shifts to keep me from having a second meal break, and the keep you barely under each week to avoid giving you full-time benefits.

We're not even allowed overtime at my location. Not sure if all Targets are like that, but if we even get close they send us home early/make us come in later (and don't tell us) or make us take extra long/extra halfs. Bullshit.

preaching to the choir. its every grocery store or super marker. I know managers personally, and i run the night crew for safeway. they will purposefully cut you to 38 hours on a week after working you 3 months straight with over time just so you dont qualify for full time status (this would hurt them in the slow season as they love to cut hours from everyone they can.) I would work 6 to 7 days straight with one day off for weeks on end.

Petty much in a nutshell, they will fuck you raw to make a bonus.
