I'm learning Japanese.
Not because I want to, I just watch so much subbed anime that I'm slowly picking up on it.

Okay, as someone who's actually studying Japanese, I'm gonna warn you: don't assume that's actually how people talk.

Next you're gonna tell me that high school students don't have wacky but adorable hijinks.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty damn obvious that half the characters in anime have some verbal tic, and even those who don't still speak oddly at best.
But still, I'm learning the meaning of different words and phrases.

Good, glad you know that.
I deal with so many weeaboos on a regular basis, and I just get sick of their **** after a while.

Only time I've ever used what I've learned other than when I've failed to see the subtitles was when there was something so deserving of praise that I felt I had to go through at least a slight effort to praise it, which ended with me writing out an entire (though simple) sentence in Japanese and then using translation software to make sure the grammar was at least somewhat correct. This was somewhere people knew me and I made sure to apologize for it beforehand.
