Three days ago a woman was walking her dog
named Thor when suddenly a loose dog jumped
out from behind a dumpster and started growling
at them, and Thor quickly bit the loose dog in
panic. Even though the dog was only briefly
scratched, it was still considered savaged biting.
The loose dogs' owner pressed charges against
the woman for biting her dog, and Thor was
sentenced to be put down.
One day before Thor was going to be put down
someone stole him.
Turns out it was a police officer who stole him,
and sent him to a vet to get him examined for any
reasons to be put down. There were none.
The police officer is now getting prosecuted and
is in risk of loosing his job for saving that dog.

If nothing this reduced my faith in humanity. The cop saved a life and he gets punished for it?
How is your faith in humanity restored?
Yeah, the cop was a cool guy.
But seriously, I don't want to live in a world where a dog is killed for defending someone and a cop gets fired for defending the dog.

This is actually my fear when I become an "Animal Cop".
Vets, shelters, etc tend to euthanize animals for what seems like no reason.
Hell, I once saw an episode of Animal cops, where they put down a stray dog simply because it didn't get along with other dogs. Mind you, it was perfectly healthy and loved the company of humans. Overall, it seems like instead of sitting down and attempting to train the animal to one day go to home, they'd rather just kill it instead of taking a small amount of time out of their day. If you ask me, it's complete and utter bullshit.

Really restored? I would just say that police officer is one hell of a guy, society as a whole still wants to put the dog down and make an honest guy lose his job, what shit.
Great story and all, but seriously, can you people not tell the difference between loose and lose? The officer may lose his job, not loose it.

The faith that was restored by that officer stealing the dog was instantly lost by him being prosecuted
Nothing has changed
humanity is still rotten

Wow..
I went running with my dog once, and suddenly, a pitbull started chasing me. He went after me, ignoring my dog (a shepherd, much bigger than the pitbull). However, my dog stepped between me and the other dog. My dog isn't agressive at all, and rather than biting him, he just tried to make clear to the other dog that he should leave me alone, by putting a paw onto the other dog's head, and pushing him into the ground.
I decided to ignore it, confident that the other dog would leave after a few metres and return to where he came from, and pulled my dog with me, to which he complied, yet stayed between me and the pitbull.
Two miles later, I'm getting sick of being chased by the pitbull, who's still after me and still trying to bite me, while trying to get past my dog, so I decide to go into the police station (it's a small village, and I returned on the main road, which was a short cut to my home).
Talked to the cop about the dog outside, she went outside, while I kept my dog inside (if someone else but me and my dad holds my dog, he'll try to just chase us, even when he's held by others).
Strangely enough, the dog just ignored the cop, despite that she leashed him, didn't look at my dog, but kept staring at me with a face as if he'd wanted to try to eat me.
The cop took the dog with her, I said thanks and left, and up to this day, I have no clue what happened with that dog..
Yeah, not a funny, not a twist. Just something similar I experienced.
Real life doesn't always have a twist.. Sorry if you expected something.
TL;DR: Just a similar experience without feels or funny.

"The loose dogs' owner pressed charges against the woman for biting her dog..."
Oh sentence structure, you slay me.
Oh sentence structure, you slay me.
It's a bit stupid that if a dog on the loose jumps out and is all aggressive to a woman walking her dog (then her dog defends her), that her dog is the one who should be put down for being dangerously aggressive...
What the hell Denmark?
What the hell Denmark?
My dog ripped apart a guy who broke into my house and came into my room when I was 14, the guy was in the hospital for a few days, my dog had ripped out one of his eyes. The family tried to sue mine over the hospital bills and were trying to get my dog put down, we counter sued, they paid for the damages the guy caused to the house (broken window, 200$ vase shattered in the struggle and my n64 that he knocked down while trying to run away) and for my dogs hospital bill (my dog broke 2 ribs and cracked a tooth), we won. Some faith in the legal system was restored that day.
