I hate this argument a lot. I see both sides, and while I think I'd prefer no guns at all... well, you can't just take them away, especially when you know no matter what you do people will still get them/somehow hide them. I understand both sides, I prefer one, but as a person who doesn't know guns very well, I also can't truly feel justified in my judgement.

So... that's part of the reason why I want to go to the UK. Pretty sure they're straight up banned. The situation is taken care of. I won't have to hear it as much anymore.

Why go to the Uk if you're afraid of crime? It's ranked second behind the states for crime. Canada is much better and, still english.

Note the "Assault Victims" tab. This tab includes fire arms, and is a clear representation that the UK is far from a safe country. It's assault victims rate is twice as high as America's. So much for banning firearms stops criminals, huh?

I'd have a better chance against someone with a knife than a gun.

Besides, I specifically said I was just getting away from the argument. They're banned. The end. Won't have to worry about it anymore in the UK.

Though Canada may not be so bad either...

What the **** has assault got to do with guns? Assault ranges from pushing someone to beating 7 shades of **** out of them and none of it involves the use of a gun. Go out on a night out, you'll see where most of those assault stats come from, a congregation sexually deprived meatheads and chavs.

Banning firearms reduces gun related crimes you dolt.

Instead of 11,000 gun violence victims a year, is 11,000 bomb and stabbing victims better? No it isn't. Criminals will find other means of killing people no matter what you do. Banning guns will just take firearms out of law abiding citizens.

UK is a testimate to my statement. It's the 2nd violent place in the world. Just because people aren't killed with guns, does that make it a better place? I'd rather be killed by a gun then stabbed.

You'd rather be killed by a gun than stabbed (and probably live)?

Now I see the problem with your argument: You're retarded.

Your problem is that you have no idea what you're talking about. Come back to me when you understand that when someone has intent on killing someone, whether it's with a gun, a knife, an explosive or a baseball bat, chances are they are going to kill you.

America's problem at the moment is that they don't care about gun violence, they just care about mass shootings and taking away your rights. 5 people a day die to gun violence in Detroit, that's on average, 35 people a week. Out of those shootings, around 90% are committed standard semi-auto handguns (ie, glock17, M1911, CZ), and around 3% with semi automatic Assault Rifle clones (AR-15's aren't assault rifles, only clones), yet for some reason, you want to ban all 'assault weapons'? How many bullets in a magazine, or how many rounds a minute the gun can fire has nothing to do with the people dying, so why is the American government, media, and people convinced that 'assault weapons' are the heart of gun violence? It's just beyond me.

I'd like to point out that gun crimes in america are a joke, and I agree that something needs to be done, but the laws that Americans are trying to pass will do nothing. Licenses for all firearms are a step in the right direction in my opinion. Banning guns that play a 3% role in gun violence will do nothing.

"Banning firearms reduces gun crime"
Russia and Mexico didn't get the memo.

Banning firearms reduces gun crime in countries where massive underground crime syndicates aren't prevalent.

Happy anon?

******* thank you. Everyone else is giving me a headache. You can't just strip people of their rights because you're scared. If you really feel that strongly enough about it, there are other countries that completely agree with you
