Contrary to what Disney showed, Hercules wasn't a very bright men. He was a bit stupid, but at the same time virtuous, to the point of massive self discipline. He was also not Hera's son. Zeus was a massive man-whore. He would disguise as many things simply to sleep with human women for the fun of it. In the case of Hercules, he disguised as a human woman's husband, slept with her, conceived Hercules, and after he left, the real husband came home, they had sex, and conceived Hercules' twin brother.


Hercules also slept with 50 women on 50 consecutive nights, believeing they were all the same woman.

Also, Hercules is Roman mythology, not Greek.

He's pretty much Heracles, Hercules is just the Roman name.

Not "pretty much," the stories between Greek and Roman myth are, with a few exceptions, the same stories, but the people have different names. Just as Jupiter was the Roman name for Zeus and Minerva for Athena, Hercules was the name the Romans used for Herakles.

I said pretty much because I'm not really an expert, but I do know that there were a few minor differences between Greek and Roman mythology, and I wasn't sure if there was any differences between Heracles/Hercules.

There are always a few minor differences when it comes to specific details, but for all intents and purposes, the myths are identical aside from names (unless we get into Apollo, who had the same name in both).

I just tend not to deal with absolute statements unless it's a subject that I'm really familiar with.

I knew most of that. Anybody who's even glanced a Greek Mythology book knows the Disney movie is almost complete bullshit.

I've seen it used for both sarcasm and seriousness. That's why I wasn't sure.
