At this point they have about a 5 kt nuke. This is pathetic. The US's Little Boy was 20 kt and it wasn't even tested before being dropped. The largest nuke was around 80 mt which is nearly 2000 times larger than the Korean Nuke.

That's what i thought, because i remember reading about their failed underground bomb test that barely even showed up on the scales relative to what they'd expect from a "WMD". I mean you could basically starve them by cutting off aid for a month or two then walk right in without much fight.

It is definitely worrying that they are trying, but they have had so many failures and setbacks that of all the countries that are trying to develop they probably have the least chance of developing a significant and successful nuclear program.

Also at this point NK has managed to alienate every ally they have. It is highly likely that China would side with NK in any potential conflict. If they did get involved it would probably be to stop NK (though not necessarily cooperating with US/SK). There is absolutely no way China would risk its access to US markets for the sake of NK.

Totally different situation. At the time American forces were very close to the Chinese border under the command of an American general who advocated expanding the conflict into China. Now neither the US or China have any real interest in an armed conflict. But if for some reason they were legitimately threatened then they would definitely respond.

South Korea spends more money on it's military then the entire GDP of North Korea last time I looked. Also mentioning that the United States has military bases in South Korea, Japan, The Philippines, etc. So we would be drawn into this conflict with South Korea without much of a choice. China would probably just back off. I mean no one is going to start world war 3 over a piece of shit like NK. I view the US and China as friends, in the since that we both prosper off of each other.

Well i think the South Koreans really do care, but they're just stuck in a bad spot. They're strong enough to reunite Korea but they have to make sure they can do it without causing a major "alliance war" like WW1, and also the people of NK are so brainwashed i can see how one might hesitate to bring them into the lifestyle the South Koreans enjoy, which is very modern unlike North Korea.

And who told them that? Just because that is how many warheads they SAY they have does not mean that is how many they have.

They're apart of the NPT treaty, they're not allowed to lie about their warheads. If they were, we'd see it on the news and they'd be sharing the spotlight with North Korea right now. This is 2013, countries can't just hide nukes.

Not necessarily. I'm sure you've seen 300. Also, the U.S.'s troops are highly trained soldiers, not just villagers given guns and told to aim and fire. Every single soldier in the United States goes through extensive training.

Modern warfare is won by technology, not numbers. The US also has a superior navy and Air Force than China.
Japan could win based on superior training and technology. China is still a couple of decades behind the ball when it comes to military technology. Right now they're just trying to buy Russian weapons to compensate. Even former Soviet Union stuff, meaning they're still behind the ball.
Also China was a participant in the Korean War and they were practically obliterated by the UN forces. I know that was back in the 1950s, but they really haven't improved too much since then

I remember watching a video about the Chinese military and how they were trying to upgrade their technology. The US took this as a threat, so it put China in an awkward position.

What I'm trying to say is: I'm sure the Chinese would have better technology if the US weren't up their asses about it.

It's hard when you're the US and you're the only super power in the world and you want to insure you maintain your domination. The Chinese are also Communist, and not exactly allies that they can trust. Or for any Western powers to trust.

Remember some of these people that are in power today were around during the Cold War. And who was our biggest enemy? Of course the Soviet Union and the Communist. So having another communist power rise and rival the States is probably something they don't want to happen. Especially a power with nuclear war heads. I think that not only are the States trying to insure that they are the sole power in the world, they don't want to have a whole new Cold War erupt again

Do you count alliances? Like the US has NATO. And again I would still factor in that the US is better trained and has more experience. The Chinese haven't fought in a real war since the Korean War and they got their asses handed to them.
And knowing them they'll do what the Soviets did and just throw more and more men out there because they have so many. The Soviets averaged losing 6 million people a year because they had so many to lose. Germany walked all over them. Now I know you said if all technology was wiped out, but I still think the US has other intangibles that give them the advantage.
Also, China had to buy 280 BILLION dollars worth of oil from the US last year because they don't have any. The US is about to become the largest global supplier of oil, and already is one. So if we cut off their oil, the Japanese won't give them any, the Middle East might cut it off if the US cuts them a deal, but they still can't supply enough to sustain the military force China needs to combat the US and the Allies

China has recently created stealth fighter jets and drones very, very, very similar to our own UAVs.

Though American pilots are better trained and yes we do have a far more extensive Navy. China couldn't afford to try and go out and fight large naval battles outside of their own waters. Yes they have a couple of air craft carriers and submarines, but the US has more and better counter measures.
