"Everyone these days is stupid!..!!. except for me!!... and also, things have gotten worse.."
If you spoke to any random individual from the 1700's do you really think they'd be smarter than any random individual today? This generation, where education is mote free and open to anyone than it has EVER been?

People aren't as dumb as you think they are, you're just so self centered that you assume people are stupied when they annoy you talking to someone else, if you made friends you'd see that they really aren't as dumb as they sound.

That's a pretty good point, actually. Yeah, if you look at history you'l hear about plenty of geniuses such as Galileo, Einstein and Tesla But let's look at how much support these men got and look at their time periods

Galileo, who lived in the 1600s brought some very enlightening knowledge as to the Nature of our Solar System. Sent to prison for heresy.

Tesla, from the 1800s gave us the light bulb. ****** over at the patent office by Thomas Edison and bitch-slapped into relative obscurity.

Einstein in the 1900s, with revolutionary ideas for Gravity, time and the speed of light. Contributor to the Manhatten Project. Won Nobel peace prize, International reverence and fame during and well after his lifetime.

In a relative sense, humanity is becoming more and more enlightened as time goes on.

In a way...yes. You made a very valid point but there is a widening gap between the intelligent and the ignorant. I live in a rural area of north Georgia and it's happening similar to what op and the movie described. I think H.G. Wells had the right idea in "The Time Machine" with humans spliting into two different species. Just not as drastic as in the book.
