Did you know that the kilroy meme was actually based off of a staff sergeant who's last name was roy. He was such a hard ass that they called hi killroy

But he had a huge honker and they'd pick on him with the little painting

This was maaaany years before the WWs, but one of the original's son was in the war and made a callback to it for an inside joke that only he would get. But as many people do, his brigade pretended to get it and thus the joke spread without anyone knowing why and thus spawing several silly origin stories like this one
