True true but when it first came out it was pretty fun. Everyone was just exploring and making friends. Discovering new lands, items, what not. There were no meta gamers, people were just having fun. Cash shop items were just for looks. And then Nexon happened. Freaking NExon
Yeah.. Played about a few months ago. It's not as simple as it used to be. There are like 6 side branches to a main plot which I didn't even know existed. Still, the people are fairly the same as they were years ago. Just gotta find a bunch and you'll be golden. What's your take on the new maple?
I actually never really like maplestory except for the first year or two of playing where you were learning about it, because thats the best time for any game. I felt it was way way WAY too repetetive and long. But people had good intentions, playing to, you know, have fun.
Then the community evolved into people just wanting to be good at attack power and stuff. The game became a game where you attack monsters with numbers, and spend hours just so you attack different monsters with bigger numbers. It lost its soul of being a game and turned into who had better attack.
That being said
I know its a biased opinion saying I like old maple better (the old skills, town, everything) but this goes for every fucking new video game being created. SIMPLICITY SIMPLICITY SIMPLICITY. Like, it was simple. You started as a beginner, and then worked your way up and chose a pretty simple job that later advanced into these cool new ultra classes. Now there are way too many flashy characters that come out and Nexon utilizes this to make money by making them OP and putting their skills in the cash shop (they did this with evans. not sure about others.)
I mean, all the new classes are soo much flashier than explorers it makes explorers look retarded and who would ever want to be one. That being said, every game in general needs to being back the element of simplicity. Halo 4 sucked with customization in weapon loadouts for example.
In short, developers focus on the aspect of coolness instead of enjoyability nowadays which ultimately ruins all of the modern games I once loved.
