gyarados is overated... magikarp is the shit... i had a lvl 100x6 party with magikarp... deleted all moves without splash at pokemon sapphire to my gameboy... the battery died now tho ;S

a god among gyrados? hell be lvl 99, knowign only splash and tackle, with 98 lvls of magikarp's shitty stat increases. You want a god among gyrados, get one somehow at lvl 1 and train it to 100. That'd be a badass gyrados.

in HG/SS you can get really low level gyarados at lake of rage. caught a lvl 12 gyarados on my HG and traded it to my SS and it served as a pseudo-starter

This gyrados would still have better Sp.Atk and speed stats than any non-legendary pokemon. Also you do know that TMs exist. Teach it Flamethrower, Thunder , Earthquake and Waterfall ... try that in an online battle.
