I accidentally freed a prisoner once. I was fighting some bandits and I missed one of my shots with my bow and arrow.

Apparently that arrow found a guard and killed him...

The other guard rushed up to me and began attacking me while I was in the middle of a bandit attack....

Lets just say I was in the middle of a rage induce melee galore.

I killed everything and then realized that the last dude I killed wasn't a bandit at all. Then some dude came up and thanked me for freeing him and ran off.....

Into Saber cat....

Well...I hope he enjoyed his freedom for all 1 minute of it....
