but in the books it's both Ron and Mr.Weazley who tell Harry all what was left of Petigrew was a finger, most likely meaning all the Weazley's ( if not the wizarding community) knew Peter was supposed to be dead. Reguardless they knew a ghost was sneaking around Ron's general bed-area.
