abesimpson (01/27/2013) [-] It's only effective to strike (and by that I mean just a small slap, and just ONE!) when the kid is being a douche in the moment (for example, throwing a tantrum) that way he doesn´t do that kind of shit, but not out of fear, but as some kind of pavlovian effect. But if the kid is just a douche in general (like in this case), what´s the point spanking him for having a shitty personality?

do really think more physical abuse will change that?
as far as the kid knows, he is just getting spanked cause its part of his daily routine, not cause he did something wrong at school. then he goes to school the next day and bullies some kid again because he got spanked at home for bulling kids at school.
not saying this is always the case as some kids only need to be spanked once, but would you really want to spank your kid?
