yeah, last time I updated my ipod, I spent an hour or 3 changing that
and that's why you should never update your ipod, the only 3 times I did, it froze, had to let the battery run dry of it's own, then re-sync all my songs
updating took more than a day

mine broke too last summer
put it in my pocket, pulled it out again a minute after, screen was cracked, not as badly as that, but still

still works

why replace something that still works? it's not that bad, and I only use it for music and naked ex-girlfriend pictures (don't judge me)

It's a lot nicer with screen replaced
It's truly a major difference, and it's not that hard to replace screen by yourself
I don't turn it on any more since I got new htc though

You could have rebooted it by holding menu and the center button, unless it's an iPod touch.
