With your massive tv you still only see whats on the middle monitor. We get to see everything else going on that you have to turn to see.

I prefer 3 monitors. I want 3 32'' ones. that way I can run Eve Online with 1 account going, one on my internet, and one on some other game that I tend to be playing at the moment.

Six,is nice because in Eve Online, there is no such thing as not enough screen space..I have one 26'' right now and I am always running out of room.

I live in WH space(well, not atm,I got egged in my barge this morning so im wating for a hole to that takes us back thats closer,Im too lazy to fly 30+ jumps again) but I had so many things open,Dscan, intel channels..etc..

I only went to WH space to make iskies to get my Fleet Issue Tempest.

Seriously. That Gniess rock was bigger than Rhode Island.
User avatar #50 to #48 - joshdian (01/26/2013) [-]
if the gniess there is as big as the supdomain rocks in null, then ill have to reccomend wormholes to our corps miners :P

but yeah during those huge goon fleets i have d-scan open, all the chat and intel, then of course the numerous tabs of porn that all the nice little goonies link

Eh,we share this WH. Its a C3. The spod rocks are a bit on the small side, but theres some ark,crokite,jaspet,gniess,pyro.. its a decent hole,Ive seen better(I found a C6 I think[highest level WH,I dont know what that is now..] that had Arkonor rocks the size of a small moon. They look like they were never touched.

It was so worth it until the friggin sleepers chased me around >.>

Yall Goonies are red to me :( and I have friends that are goonies so I have to make sure to not shoot them.

This game sounds very interesting. What kind of learning curve are we talking about?
#78 to #67 - thamuz (01/26/2013) [-]
The kind of were common sense applies.
If it seems too good to be true then it is and you should learn to avoid scams.
Strangers will attempt to kill you for shits and giggles.
WH space is the wild west. Anything can,and will happen.
You will probably get popped.
You will probably get killed more than once.
NEVER fly what you cant afford to lose.
Dont come crying to me when you die in Lo Sec space. Its called Low Security for a reason.
Common sense goes a long way.

Its got a steep learning curve(and to train all skills to level 5 would take something like 30 years) but its fun,and I like it cause i can do what I want. There is no story, you make your own story. Do you want to be famous? Do you want to remain hidden under the radar? Do you wanna be a pirate? Do you want to be an industrial mogul? Do you want to fight for other people? Do you want to explore? Do you want to trade? Do what you want. Be what you want. But above all :Fly what you can afford to lose.

2 big questions. First off, is it free to play? Secondly, explain what happens when you die? Is it a clean restart? Do you loose whatever you currently have on you? Do you take a skill hit? Is there a banking system for protection? These kinds of death elements.
#88 to #84 - thamuz (01/26/2013) [-]
1)yes and no. Theres ways you cna make it free for you(get good skills, and make lots of money, and you can buy your game time in game, right now,in my region,1 PLEX[timecard about 14.99 in USD] runs about 550M-660 million. While,it is a lot of money, you can easily make that in a few weeks with decent skills while mining or doing other things.

In eve,you are a Demigod. Immortal to most people. When you die,you are given a new life in a new body. You lose whatever you had on you,so cargo, ship, ammo, items to fit the ship with, are lost, unless you can claim them before the guy who killed you takes them.

Your skills CAN take a hit but thats if you are a tardmonkey who doesnt update his clone. I have about 5 million skill points and my clone can hold 6.1 million skill points. As long as your current clone doesnt exceed your replacement clone, you wont lose skill points when you die.

I played EVE for maybe a week or so, but barely scratched the surface. Reading stuff like this makes me pumped to start again though. One basic question though if you care to answer: can you enjoy the game without investing insane amounts of hours?
User avatar #236 to #222 - thamuz (01/26/2013) [-]
Yep.

I play it to hang out with friends mostly. Due to my shitty job and shittier hours I tend to just mine and build stuff to sell. Mine a few ore hold fulls a day(usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to half an hourish,a but more on some of the larger ones) and call it a day
User avatar #260 to #236 - iaminfactawizard (01/26/2013) [-]
Question. Is lowsec piracy a cost-effective career? I played for a week or so, lost a Cormorant and a Condor, and forgot about the game for a year.
User avatar #266 to #260 - thamuz (01/26/2013) [-]
Yes and no,but you need strong skills and a good team to do it well.
User avatar #245 to #236 - kernelstack ONLINE (01/26/2013) [-]
Nice. My playing time could be from 30 mins - 1 hour during weekdays and maybe a few more during weekends, but seldom more than that due to work and shit.

Anyways, off to reclaim my account (if it's still there...).
