Can't Electrical and Mechanical Engineers also apply to be an astronaut? They wont be practical in the aerodynamics etc of the ship, but would still be ideal for working on electrical appliances and engines within the ship. (Ship being Spaceship, not a boat)

I hope they can, Im doing Mechanical, and I hope to be able to apply to the ESA (I would do NASA, but you need to be American for that, so I'll have to stick with Europe.)
