You can't tell which side is right, except for based on your own opinion, in which case you simply join the minority. To me, each side of any issues has some things wrong about it and some things right about it. While the balance is different, there is no absolutely right, nor is there and absolutely wrong. I think the WBC is a church because its views are religiously-based (though it can also be a hate group, they're not mutually exclusive). However, I think churches and other religious institutions should have to prove they are charitable organizations before they are granted tax exempt status. That is, they should have to demonstrate that they do secular good and don't seek profit.

They are a church, sorry but they technically are, if we call them a hate group then we can also call many other religious churches hate groups. They're dicks, but that's the reason why they aren't classified as a hate group and what the guy below me said.
