US history books show the American part of the war, and little else.

This has led to the misunderstanding that the US was the most important ally against the Germans, while it was actually the discredited Soviet Union.

As for politics, it fueled both Germany and the Soviet Union, and they kept clashing together backing themselves up with loads of propaganda.

No history books can teach you what the war was really about without putting too much focus on one thing, making you believe that was the winning factor.

1. the kaiser wasnt assassinated. arch duke franz ferdinand of austria hungary was. AH asked germany for support and used that as a reason to take the rhein back. the kaiser also told the AH leaders that they would have his full support in whatever they needed

2. france and the UK. russia had nothing to do with those talks since they pulled out of the war early and signed a treaty with germany. the united states wanted a reconsiliatory peace while the UK and france, namely france, wanted a punitory peace. since the US was outvoted and germany was saddled with about 2 billion i believe in war debt

3. WWII didnt really unite the world and helped the US the most. since we didnt enter the war till the last year or two of the eastern campaign we had almost no loss but got all the benefit

the only time we would really have to be "united states of earth" is if we manage to contact another planet...and that will never happen...doesn't seem probable...
I guess if we are going to start moving to mars, us being united would be useful because all the rich countries are going to be able to get to mars first...so there would probably be a major shitstorm when something like China has half of mars populated and wont give any of it to any one else

No. All the countries fucked up. They were all parts of it. They were all fighting for more power, but because Germany lost, and was the biggest threat on the other side, they put all the blame on them, to humiliate them and push them down.

And people seem to forget that Nazis wern't just "Germans". AND that all the other countries couldn't care less about Germany taking over countries, until it was hurting their interests in WW2. 90% of countries allready hated jews then, (maybe not so extreme as to do this). Even Norway (which I am from, so no I am no an over patriotic German), had a "No jews" rule before and during ww2.

germany started a few wars. so we could safely say that they (the germans of that time) were at fault. remember that, to start a war, you need enough people to fight in it. examples: the french german war, that the germans won, and WW1.

WW2 is even worse. we like to say 'it were the nazi's', but while the idea was theirs, other germans went along with it. most often out of fear, true, but , as Erich Karstner said: 'if something bad happens, not only the ones who do it are responsible, but also the ones who do nothing to stop it.' and the nazi's were voted into office by the german people.

since the end of WW2, germany has proceeded to be a peacefull nation(s), and, since 1990, a powerfull one at that.

I am by no means a patriotic american, because I am german. I have lived in the Netherlands for most of my life, and have, in this way, seen both perspectives. (for as far as you can see things after they happened).

Just looked it up. Apparently you don't read your own sources. It makes the claim that 112 million were massacred since the 1500's. The Europeans are responsible for about almost all of those. The entire native population in the US was approximately 6 figures. It's mathematically impossible to validate your claim.

Your book disregards disease as a factor. Disease killed far more than any European power. He counts it as if each death by sickness was an intentional murder. By that logic, patient zero for influenza is the biggest mass murderer in history.

Yes, but the vast majority of those deaths were caused by diseases carried by Westerners, not by Americans intentionally shooting everyone. When the British and later the US (Same people, different Country) began to expand West, they were more or less fighting the remnants of a Civilization that just experienced the Apocalypse.
