Sounds like trying to enjoy a movie but keeps analyzing the film techniques.

I do this to the point where I actually don't get involved at all in emotional films.

I went to watch Warhorse in a movie theatre and laughed loudly at the really bad acting, design and effects whenever a character died.
There was even this one bit where a mortar went off and this oh-so-obvious rag doll just flew up into the air, limbs a flailin'; I laughed harder at that than anything else in the past six months.

The woman two seats across from me gave the dirtiest look every time, tears streaming down her face as she did so.
I was kinda scared she was gonna stab me when we left.

Or playing a game and noticing design flaws and inconsistencies.
