The post is obviously about your federal income tax. Willy responded to that. Nothing he mentioned is covered by income tax, it's covered by sales and property tax. No one has mentioned highways, he said roads which again are covered by sales and property tax.

I'm Canadian so this may not apply to you (but it probably still does).
"Road tax" you spend on fuel goes into general revenue.
So do property tax and all of the hidden taxes we don't notice as much.
If my fuel taxes went into the roads, we wouldn't have a pothole in the country.
If my property taxes went into the infrastructure everyone would have high speed internet.
It's the direction the money is sent that pisses me off, special interest groups petitioning for grants. Nearly the entire native american population is either supported in prison (>80% of the inmate population are indians) or supporting them on reservations.
The government continues to vote themselves higher salaries while the economic disparity increases. They are supposed to be representative of the people but they have lives entirely separate from what any other citizen knows as life.
Our public healthcare system costs the country over 30% of its GNP because of the hypochondriacs exploiting the system out of sheer boredom. If you go into the emergency room it is full of people with the sniffles while someone seriously injured (like me for example) has to wait for 9 hours on a gurney before I could get prepped for surgery...
I buy big, expensive tools to avoid paying as much tax as possible but I still hope the taxes I do pay go toward a better Canada.

Sorry for the rant, it's a touchy subject for anyone that works hard.

The Canadian government also gave them a full fifth of Canada... FOR FREE!

As far as I'm concerned, 1% of Canada is worth going to war over.
They are a conquered people, the only difference between them and every other conquered people throughout history is that they were allowed to live.

For some strange reason (propaganda) they are seen as this all-knowing people in touch with the earth.
They were a blight on the land, directly causing the extinction of several species and they never got past the "hunter/gatherer" stage of human development.
They routinely made war parties to rape, pillage, and murder.
The mentality is still the same, they are just imprisoned when they do it now...
Which is why the Canadian inmate population is >80% native (it was 86% a few years ago, I don't know the numbers now)

I agree in theory, if a family is unable/unwilling to support a severely flawed individual it should be perfectly acceptable to remove it from the social pool (soylent retard... yum).
In practice though it becomes difficult to make that distinction.
By the time most of the mentally handicapped show symptoms they are usually at least a few months or even a few years old (autism can take a while to recognize).
If a family is then unwilling to support that child throughout it's life then it should be removed when it becomes a burden on the country.
Like I said, it's a fine line. That same autistic could become useful in a relatively menial job and be able to support itself.

One thing I don't agree with is the homes they make for them and allow them to breed like ******* rabbits. There is a "home" a few blocks away from my place that has a few dozen in it. They have shat out at least 10 babies in the last 5 years because the wranglers can't seem to keep them apart (shock collars would probably work)
These offspring had no hope of being born fully functional, their waterhead parents saw to that but now they are even more of a burden on the system.
Then you get the granola grabber saying they have the same rights as everyone else...
Rights are a privilege, if you can't earn your keep you shouldn't get any.

A few years ago I had a bad accident, when I figured I couldn't support myself I went looking for my pocket knife. My old man had seen this coming though and took it from the rest of my stuff in the hospital.
The next day the surgeon filled me in on what I could still do but the fact remains; I refuse to be a burden on my country.
The trouble is, the ones that cost the most, feel the most entitled. Like the country owes them a living.

The hard working are screwed...

The only thing i would argue to put in the private sector are hospitals and transport services. I live in Europe so prisons in america are different than here thus cost and the way they are run is different, we focus more on rehab rather than making the problem worse(IMO). I can't visit the top link, still in college.
Private schools have always out done public in Eire and in america from what I've heard.

A disproportionate amount is used for stupid ****. Like in my town we have two perfectly nice schools a minute away from my house, one grades k-3 other grades 4-6. They decided they're gonna tear down both of those schools and build another school in the large field (which kids used to play in before they fenced it off) that is smaller than the small school of the two. There is nothing wrong with the two schools (I asked the custodian who manages all repairs on both schools) at all, just slightly faulty heating in the larger one.

Not true. You think it's biggest because you do not understand difference between discretionary spending and entire budget.
Discretionary + Mandatory spending = entire budget.
Defense department does have biggest share in discretionary, but it's not true in whole picture.

RSDI-Retirement, survivors, and disability insurance.

Through this, money from social security can not just be given to retirees, but disabled people who are younger than retirement age and children and wives of drawers (living or dead).

And since this is overlooked when you apply for benefits, those who draw here can also draw for welfare and unemployment.
