i dont think so. the rare earth theory is basicly that all of th things that came together to create intelligent life on the planet are so unlikely that there are probably few planets with sentient life. that being said the amount of other star systems in the universe mean that there have a to be a lot. i just dont think it would be possible for them to me millions of years ahead of us

There are quadrillions of galaxies in space that happens to be infinitely expanding. I think there is a possibility that there is some sort of life form out there that is older then human life.

What we must also see is that not all life is based on what we have. Marine biologist creamed themselves when they discovered that near thermal vents we have these chemoautotrophs that survive off of hydrogen sulfide. So whats to say there aren't methane breathers, or hydrogen sulfide breathers out there? Just because we think life is what we have doesn't make it so.

There's an equal chance they're still in their equivalent of a stone age, too.
