i went to public high school in New York...i was surrounded by ******* with no more than 70 IQ who couldn't even solve simple algebraic equations... i had 1 kid ask the teacher if the moon and the sun are the same thing he through the sun turns himself off at night and becomes the moon like a light bulb or something ... this happened in the 11th grade ..... i'll let that sink in a bit.

i like high school, you've gotta think of it this way. never will you be in an environment where all of your friends are in the same place at the same time. you've gotta appreciate what you have.

For me, high school is kinda like purgatory. It's not that bad. It's not that good, but still not that bad.

Conversation with my World History teacher today:
Me: Socialism does have some positive aspects.
Teacher: No.

You don't say.
I remember the moment I realized that, too. I was a sophomore. We were all coming out of the auditorium following a school-wide assembly. I was talking to this one guy I knew about how badly the school handled the whole thing, how, if they'd dismissed the classes separately and assigned different sections to different exits they could have eliminated the traffic jams in the hallways.
It just so happened that a teacher heard me criticizing the school magical fairy princessistration and reported me. I got sat down in the dean's office and lectured on my 'disrespect for my superiors' and was pretty much told that I wasn't allowed to criticize them.
High school is just a place where they teach everybody to fall in line and beat you into submission if you don't.

I like high school because I have an awesome group of friends that share my internet morals and hatred of others. They keep me sane and we get up to shenanigans.

Pic related, stated shenanigans

Well I'm 16 and not in high school. I don't do drugs or drink yet everyone else in my high school does. They actually smoke pot right outside the school. I was evaluated for an I.Q. last year and it was a 145. The average in my school right now is 101. Who the **** is in charge of these places?

grown-ups. And probably the kind who brags about their IQ.

My high school experience has so far been filled with:
-Over-analysis of school time by the magical fairy princessistration
-Trying too hard to avoid being politically incorrect
-Making absence seem much better than tardiness
-Far too many people trying to be gangster
-Whores everywhere
-Homework and stuff
-Being told to prepare for my future asap
-Overpriced food

I go to a highschool in Western New York and last year a kid in my regents math class asked if we lived on the East or West coast of America. He wasn't kidding.

Highschool sucked, teachers didn't know crap, jocks and douchebags tried to show off to people and idiots would believe that they are cool, everywhere there were special cliqs where people seperated themselves from others. HIGH-SCHOOL SUCKED BALLS.

rlly, the place where kids constantly starting **** for no reason, rumors, fights, gossip, teachers don't give a **** about you, and while this is going on they expect you to totally focus on school and decide on what you want to do the rest of you life before you're even technically an adult

never would of guessed

Many of the great thinkers and achievers of our world were inspired by their courses through great experiences. High School and modern education does a detestable job of truly preparing and particularly nourishing the future generation of workers. That is unarguable.

The entire state education platform works as a factory: Standardized curriculum, standardized groups of pupils (age), and standardized teaching methods. At the end of the school-day, it is hard to see how one would have motivation to pursue outside educational interests; establishing that "great experience" which essentially crafts a person.

Despite going to one of the most rich districts in the US, I find spending eight hours a day in an institution, especially considering that it is such a waste of time, to be plainly dumb. The US government funds school districts by their attendance even though, by and of itself, compulsory daily attendance is not necessary for learning material. See how colleges work. How about funding based on performance? I think it's obvious to everybody that examines schools that money =/= performance.

Washington DC has the most school spending per capita, I believe. It's also full of ******* . As a result, the schools are one of the worst in the nation.

"No Child Left Behind" and its extensions are counter-productive. You can't get ghetto scum and those who simply do not wish to do well, to, get this, do well!

High school, just like every other stage in life, has as many positive elements to it as is does negative.

There are so many people who work who would love to go back to high school, where the workload and hours are less than many jobs, and where you're given the chance to and even encouraged to socialize with the people around you and form long term relationships, and given opportunities to learn new skills

On the other hand, there are kids who suffered at the hands of bullies and crappy teachers in high school, who would like nothing better than to go out into the real world and start working for themselves and mature through life experience

TLDR: High school, like everything else in life, is something which you just need to try and make the most out of, and if you do, hopefully it'll have a positive impact on your life.

I know I enjoyed high school, and It's definitely helped me in my later life
