I just can't really appreciate this. I'm a strong believer that intelligence comes from how hard you try, which means studying and working hard to get good grades, especially on exams. I've always thought that you get out of something what you put into it. This quote kind of allows people to justify not trying their hardest to get the best marks, which is a bad idea. Really, we should post things that boost confidence, things that tell young students that if you truly try, and put your best effort in, you will get what you want out of it. Inspirational, motivational quotes that give a boost of determination is what is needed; not self-justifying words that encourage the idea that failing is something that is redeemable. It doesn't instill a good and competitive attitude to give someone who has failed a winner's ribbon. Yes, a self-esteem boost feels good, but it dulls your character, at least i.m.o.
