That's just like saying you hate any game taking seriously, people make livings/enjoy taking pokemon serious in tournaments

If I am honest I do dislike it when people take most games really seriously because that's when it stops being a game, I understand people make money from tournaments and things like that but that's kind of my point they play for money not really fun anymore

(I know this is not the case for all game tournaments but it seems like the majority)

But some people enjoy taking games very seriously

Take people like Huskystarcraft, he plays sc2 very seriously but he has fun doing so

I play in serious League of legends team, even though we take each and every game serious we still have fun in the mean time

You have a fair point I can not deny that, But when a game become serious it usually brings unwanted emotions like anger and rage or even jealousy, if it was just played for fun these emotions dont tend to happen as much

a good dosage of anger and rage makes me play even better the next game in LoL and i still have fun when i completely outplay the enemy team.

I disagree entirely. Back when I used to just play Pokemon casually, there was no effort put into training my pokemon, so their names were always just the stock pokemon names. My whole party would just be fully evolved, disorganized pokemon.


Then I started EV training, IV breeding and team building, and that's when I really started to create quality pokemon that worked as a team. I put so many hours into breeding the perfect lil' guys that once I had them (even though really, at the end, none of them were perfect, just very close), I named them all, and they all gained a special little place in my heart. No longer was it lvl. 100 skarmory, it was lvl. 100 WOMBOCOMBO. No longer was it lvl. 100 empoleon, it was lvl. 100 Good Sir. No longer was it lvl. 100 Tyranitar, it was lvl. 100 SPARTA!!!!, no longer was it lvl. 100 shuckle, it was lvl. 100 Lamp Oil.


You see, the one thing you might get out of playing Pokemon the pro way, is a little elbow grease. If you learned anything from the show as a kid, it was that putting in effort and trying your hardest was what really created bonds with your pokemon in the end. There's nothing personal about calling your pokemon their stock names, but because I never put any special effort into any single one of them, they were never special enough to be worth having any emotional ties to. Hardcore pokemon gave me that personal tie. I was like Ash Ketchum x 100, and boy was my team fucking killer.

10 pokemon seems a bit much. And any decently leveled group of pokemon can defeat the elite 4 with even a modicum of type coverage.

When you get to the level of play that PvP demands, the meek standards that get you by in the game become downright trivial. You have to maximize every necessary stat to get the edge over your opponent, or you will fall behind. Even if it means jumping through some serious hoops to do so.

Or just play Pokemon Online, where you can change every pokemon's stats, nature, etc., without having to train and such. It's created solely for PvP. Muthafuckin Shiny Shuckle team, bitch.

i remember when i was 11, i went to the pokemon 10th aniversity and i dualed people with my emerald game. I cheated and cloned 6 rayquazas that night before, because that was like my only lvl 100 pokemon lol. The first person i was against was a 7-8 year old kid. I kinda felt bad for beating him because all he had was level 60-80 pokemons. The next person looked older than me, since he was taller. He had a team of wailord, blaziken, and some other pokemons i do not remember. I managed to get a cheap win by just using outrage with all my rayquazas. He was like, "wtf man... why is your team full of rayquazas?!"

The next person however, was more competitive and smart. He spammed thunder and managed to beat most of my rayquazas. So much for playing cheap...

Anyways, if i knew what i knew now, i would have my team full of wobbufets and destiny bond their pokemons with a wailord in my team, to use earthquake and kill my wobbufets to take out their pokemons which would be destiny bonded.

It was a 2v2 battle so, wobbufet prevents them from fleeing with his ability, and wailord would earthquake everyone, thus killing any pokemons that are on the ground, and have my wobbufet use destiny bond with the quick claw item on him (to get the first attack) on the flying pokemons which my wailord would not be able to reach.

Made my day after a shitty exam :)

u-umm, i don't know a lot of Pokémon, but i know enough as to know that Charizard is not considered a Dragon, though it should... right?

First generation did have dragon types wth man? They had only had 3 tho the Dratini evolution line. The only two types that came after gen 1 is Steel and Dark
