The problem with the Government and raising taxes etc is that they are very inefficient in their spending of money compared to a business.

And businesses like to hire one person to do the work of 13, contributing to the job problem, meaning more taxes because less people will pay the current ones.

We just suck all the way around, don't we?

Yeah when the government creates a non job, it doesn't actually create a job.
For instance a stupid job title for one of the ridiculous positions in the UK government is department liasion management training of training officer.
All that happens is money is taken from tax payers to pay a person who is then taxed , that job doesn't actually contribute towards the economy.

Are you from the UK or can you watch programs on 4oD ? There is a really good documentary on this, and it's pretty interesting.

Actually, even if somebody has a 'non-job' they still pay rent / mortgage, buy food, buy clothes, buy their family members gifts and go on holidays which all contributes enormously to the economy.

Yeah but the thing is just transferring what would be a private sector job into a public sector, which is massivly increasing debt, the government doesn't spend money better than the private sector so should really only try and provide frontline services.

You see the link I posted to the anon, try and see if you are able to watch the documentary.
