And here you see a bunch of people only knowing 1 meaning for the word irony.
Except that this post doesn't fit into any actual definition of irony. And what do you mean "open to interpretation"? Most words, irony included, have pretty strict definitions. Even a word like "set", which has a shit tonne of definitions, isn't really "open to interpretation" beyond them.
By my reasoning, one of the comments below does a pretty good job of justifying the comic's use of the word irony. I think a lot of the definitions people have cited are vague enough that they can be interpreted differently by different people, hence us disagreeing right now.
