Probably not; comic covers always have these outlandish displays, like showing a villain murdering every single hero when in actuality he'll only kill one or a few at most.

Armageddon 2001 was a 1991 DC comic characters crossover event about the future of the DC universe. All I could find was the plot of Superman's story arc where he, in a fictional year 2001 future, attempts to rid the world of nuclear weapons and I found nothing much on the woman. Possibly Lois Lane was killed by nuclear weapons.
