I am so happy to see this freaking post. I did a report on Brave New World in junior english a few years back. We had to take a controversial or banned book and give our opinion on if it is reasonably banned or what not.

well i quickly discovered in reading brave new world (at first having no idea what it was about, a random snatch off of my public libraries shelf) that what Huxley was saying was very plausible and since then i have lived my life trying to stray away from the 'distractions' he couldn't be anymore close to being right... its scary.

wonder what his take on legal marijuana would be since in the book he had "Soma" as a drug used throughout the book with similar effects.

no one cares just wanted to rant.

I agree completely.

Yet time after time, I feel sucked in by the distractions.
The world around is as intimidating as it is wonderful and vast,
and sometimes it seems to speak to you:

"Why don't you shut up and plug yourself in? Get down, it's not safe out there, you'll make a fool of yourself. Just press the button".
