I actually have a Bowie Knife. It was only $20 so I'm guessing it's a piece of ***** . It's the model in this picture. Anybody else have one?

Is it full tang? if it is, then its not total **** (full tang means the blade goes all the way through the handle) Plus you could run around as John Marston.

I do! They are good for a little while but after it gets dull, there's no way you can get it back to it's original sharpness. It worked for the first few weekends of stabbing armadillos but it just sucked afterwards...

Knifes are actually pretty cheap

Exact one I have. Not bad for the price and gets the job done, at least for what I use it for.

Been stabbed with one, does that count?
User avatar #92 to #90 - heartlessrobot (01/14/2013) [-]
Well, depends on whether or not it absorbed enough of your blood to overwrite the coding and bond to you as it's new master.
User avatar #95 to #92 - dagold (01/14/2013) [-]
sadly no, both stab wounds were pretty shallow.

Understandable. I have better knives for actual use, I'll just use it to scare off muggers.

cold steel shovel my friend, it is modelled after the Russian special forces shovel and it dose every job I gave it, even cuts steak if you sharpen it a bit. 30 bucks and worth every penny

I prefer the US Army E-Tool. more versatile.

I might get one, but stitching a pocket for it on the inside of a trenchcoat might prove difficult. I think I might just get a swordcane.
User avatar #128 to #98 - vonspyder (01/15/2013) [-]
Sword canes are over-rated and flimsy. dont bother. A good 3-4 inch gerber is great for concealability, if you want intimidation you can go to harborfreight and get a quality hunting/survival knife for 8 bucks, or if you just have to have a big thing to hack and slash with...get a machete...a good one, not the cheap flimsy **** they sell at walmart.

See, my dad has a nice swordcane. If I get tempered steel or high carbon steel it'll cost an arm and a leg but will be as strong as a claymore. Or I could get a decent cane and just smack the **** out of people with it.

thats my suggestion: nothing beats a good shalagle!

I've got one, the damn cheap ass handle split on mine so I now have a duct-tape handle.

Good thing i decided to upload the picture right?
User avatar #127 to #81 - vonspyder (01/15/2013) [-]
looks like a kabar knife.
User avatar #82 to #81 - heartlessrobot (01/14/2013) [-]
Well, mine's 14 inches long, so that's a lot more material.
User avatar #76 to #56 - vonspyder (01/14/2013) [-]
price doesnt always determine knife quality. You can get some great knives for 20 bucks or less. As long as its made from good grade steel and has been sharpened that knife youve pictured would be just fine. Feel the blade of your knife: if it feels like it is more likely to break with lots of pressure than it is to bend, thats a good indication of the kind of steel you want. If it feels flimsy or bendable then cut yourself for justin bieber with it.
User avatar #77 to #76 - heartlessrobot (01/14/2013) [-]
I don't know, hearing justin bieber makes me want to cut my ears off, does that count?
User avatar #78 to #77 - vonspyder (01/14/2013) [-]
close enough. cheers.
