No such thing as a "British" accent

While most Americans don't understand that there is no single 'british accent' you could consider that since there are tons of accents from Britain, then it is possible to have a British, meaning, one of many possibilities.

I have a British accent. Someone from Scotland also has a British accent. Doesn't mean they are the same British accent.

It's from celtic ancestry, Britain, Ireland, Scotland, and Whales, which is why each one sounds slightly similar but different enough to not be exact.

UK = Northern Ireland and Great Britain

British Isles = UK + Ireland

Great Britain = England, Wales and Scotland. Not Northern Ireland.

Are you a fucking moron?

And anon is right, while many accents are from Britain, none of them are "British". There are hundreds in just England alone.

Please ignore the raging anon above,
what he meant to say was "actually Ireland (or at least the republic of it) is not part of Britain" Its possible to be normal about it

And in this case, also correct.

Makes a change right? I'll be off to my whisky, haggis and bagpipes now.

Have you actually eaten haggis?
And if so, what does it taste like?
#32 to #27 - weirdfishes (01/14/2013) [-]
Haggis is nice it's just like spiced minced meat.. you just eat it with mash XD
User avatar #28 to #27 - TheHutchie (01/14/2013) [-]
I have not, it looks disgusting. I also can't play bagpipes, don't drink whisky, and have worn a kilt only once.

I am not a very good Scot, but at least it goes to show that stereotypes are wrong.

I myself am not a very good kiwi, I don't like sports, I hate going outside, I don't fish or eggs or kumara (sweet potato's for those of you that don't know what it is) and I don't care very much for the mitre 10 adverts.

But do you have sex with your sheep? Because that really is all that matters.

No, only our most backward farmers do that.
