And also it was because there were only isolated pockets of German-speaking people in Poland, whereas Austria/Czechoslovakia were practically entirely German speaking and had fascist movements. Also Germany had already proved they weren't trustworthy after they broke the Munich agreement.. So really it's was about the nationality of the Poles, as it was clear from then on that Hitler wanted more than union of all German-speaking peoples.

We cared about the stability of Europe and the power balance. Once it was clear Germany wasn't unifying and was conquering, we cared. It wasn't our personal relationship with Poland, of course. Their pilots fought for us in the Battle of Britain and we returned the vavour by letting the USSR have their country.
